DGA was established by Ed Headrick, the inventor of the modern day frisbee and the father of discgolf in order to introduce people to the sport he founded and to help people get disc golf courses and programs into their local parks, schools, and camps. Ed Headrick coined and trademarked the term “Disc Golf” when formalizing the sport and invented the first disc golf target, the Disc Pole Hole.
